The House of the Seven Gables is proud to invite you to an evening of reflection, history, and community. Special guest speakers from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, alongside local Author and Historian, Benjamin Shallop, will discuss Salem’s role in and the lasting impact of the Pequot War (1636-1638) ahead of the First Muster commemoration on April 11th.

The frequently glossed-over, hidden, or entirely omitted history of the Pequot War, a military conflict that turned the tides of American history, will be brought to the table during this event that centers truth-telling and cultural competency. Learn about Salem’s involvement in this devastating event that eventually led to a genocide of hundreds of Pequot people at Mistick.
