Salem 400+ Launches Official Merchandise Collection: Four centuries of Salem, now available in pin, plush, and tote form
SALEM, MA — Four hundred years of Salem history just got easier to take home. The Salem 400+ Initiative today launches its official commemorative merchandise collection, including enamel pins, tote bags, Christmas ornaments, umbrellas, and black cat plushies — with every purchase funding the free public programming planned across Salem’s anniversary year.
The collection is sold at three Salem landmarks, each chosen for its place in the city’s story.
The Charter Street Cemetery Gift Shop sits beside Salem’s oldest burial ground, established in 1637 and home to the markers of merchants, magistrates, and Mayflower passengers. Open daily, 12 to 4 p.m.; closed federal holidays.
The Witch House Gift Shop occupies one of the only structures still standing in Salem with direct ties to the 1692 witch trials — the former home of Judge Jonathan Corwin. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed federal holidays.
A third location is newly opened: a satellite gift shop and welcome center inside the historic Old Town Hall, featuring exclusive Salem 400+ items not available anywhere else. The Old Town Hall shop is open now, with hours on Thursday evenings 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday through summer and fall.
For shoppers outside Salem, the full collection ships worldwide from salem400.itemorder.com/shop/home/.
“We wanted a collection that feels as alive as Salem does,” said Virginia Cherol, Salem 400+ coordinator. “When you take home a piece of this collection, you’re not just commemorating four hundred years of history — you’re helping write the next chapter of it.”
Every dollar in proceeds goes back into Salem 400+ programming — the kickoff celebration, the Salem 400+ parade, and a full calendar of community events open to everyone, at no cost.
