The information session represents a crucial moment for community engagement, offering residents an unprecedented opportunity to learn about the comprehensive plans for celebrating Salem’s rich and complex history.

“This is more than just an event,” says Dominick Pangallo, Mayor of Salem. “It’s an invitation for every member of our community to become an active participant in how we tell our city’s story.”

The session will provide attendees with:

  • A comprehensive overview of the Salem 400+ initiative
  • Preview of planned events and commemorations
  • Insights into volunteer and participation opportunities
  • Open forum for community questions

Reflecting the initiative’s commitment to inclusive storytelling, the information session embodies the spirit articulated in the project’s guiding philosophy: Salem is a city of passionate people, where everyone can find their community. From history buffs and artists to entrepreneurs and community activists, the event aims to demonstrate how every resident can contribute to this historic commemoration.

Attendees will learn about multiple ways to get involved, including:

  • Volunteer programs
  • Educational partnerships

  • Business and sponsorship opportunities

With the 400+ commemoration approaching, this information session serves as a critical touchpoint for building excitement and understanding about the upcoming citywide celebration. The initiative seeks to not just remember history, but to actively shape how Salem’s story is understood and shared.
