The piece is a setting of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s poem by the same name. Salem native and Salem State alumni Javier Marquez will conduct his composition\, “Passing Hours”\, a setting of a poem by Ella Higginson. Also included on the program are works by Charlotte Forten\, Arthur Foote and Patrick Gilmore. \nAdditional guests include Bob Strom\, local author\, musician and historian who will join the chorus on Salem Willows for Mine and Get Off the Track and share his song research during the concert.
